The challenge
The plant wanted to reduce gas consumption without disrupting a continuous production schedule. The exhaust stream carried dust and the available space allowed only a short shutdown window.
Project route
Approach
- Heat balance and fouling review across the exhaust stream.
- Air preheater with plain-tube section for the dirty duty.
- Economiser sized for boiler feedwater heating.
- Modular delivery and pre-assembled sections for the shutdown window.
- Cleaning access and inspection points agreed with maintenance.
Result
- Recovered heat returned to process air and feedwater.
- Installation completed within the planned shutdown.
- Cleaning access retained without removing the ductwork.
